How the 10 Commandment Can Save Your Life

I’m certain that if you’ve ever attended a Sunday school class you’ve heard of them. Probably you just grew up in a God-fearing home that kept close instructions to the commandments. Perhaps for your own reasoning you learned and became accustomed to keeping true to The 10 Commandments.

Many people ask me how I do it. How do I manage to be who I am even having gone through what I have and will go through in life? Some people think I’m some type of person that I get by off their assumption that I’m doing “something” other than living by faith and The Ten Commandments.

Well, I decided to explain my reasons that I glorify the name of God and exalt his Holy name. I wanted to share with others what brings me comfort through it all…

So historically and biblically speaking the commandments were given to the Children of Israel when brought to the wilderness after being removed from Egypt, from bondage. It was a collection of and still is to be kept through out all the generations of God’s chosen.

Now let me clarify that nowadays there are many mixed generations, ethnically speaking as well as spiritually. So those who choose to live by God’s commandments and continue to teach his way to the generations are considered his children. Those who believe in Jesus Christ and that God shall come again are his children. Anyone who is preparing to enter the kingdom of heaven by utilizing faith and being just in this lifetime are his children. I could go on but I’d rather get to how The Ten Commandments can save your life.

Now I’m not just talking your physical life right here right now, I’m also referring to your eternal life. The life your soul has after being on earth. We all who have read the Holy Bible know that there are only two places to go; either heaven or hell. The only way to enter heaven is by faith and an undying love for Jesus Christ and The Almighty God.

I can make this quite frank. If you chose to not live by the commandments you are highly likely going to end up with Satan in hellfire and brimstone for an eternity where no one can save you. If you chose to follow the commandments and be upright in all your ways you are most likely to be in heaven, at peace with Jesus, God and all of the Saints (Prophets) forever.

So back then and even now God’s children were rebellious and preferred the ways of the world as opposed to God’s way. God didn’t approve and was utterly furious over seeing such madness and many times destroyed those who were against his ways. They are known as Anti-Christ. The reason God put rules in order was to help those who were good be able to survive in the midst of all the madness.

The madness consists of many of the things listed in The Ten Commandments that God says not to do. So let’s get into the first commandment according to King James Version.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. - Notice that gods isn’t capitalized because they are obviously inferior gods that do exist. Many people here on earth refer to themselves as gods of who you should not choose their ways over God’s ways as it is the first mistake you could make against God.

Can you think of someone that you’ve heard refer to themselves a god and what activities they advocate in this world that you might be inclined to try?

If you were the Almighty God and was aware that there were other gods (but nowhere near as mighty as you) who other people preferred instead of God how would you feel and would you be okay with that?

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. – So after other gods comes another unworthy act you could do that would reserve you a place in hell such as making graven images or the makings of things that are of the earth or heavens. Well, we certainly can look around and see many of these things in the world. Statues, medallions, carvings and such things that replicate actual things that GOD created first. But most of all God doesn’t want you to serve them due to how jealous God gets seeing the people created by God go off to do things against God. However, if you can manage to keep God’s commandments; God will shew mercy unto you.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. – Even though God will show mercy for keeping the commandments, God is certain that anyone who takes the name of the LORD in vain will be guilty. Guilty isn’t good so taking God’s name in vain is against God’s ways.

Some people use God’s name to get what they want, when in their hearts they don’t truly love God. Some like to use God’s name in vain by going to churches and reciting a few scriptures but in their hearts and deeds lead sinful lives. People with bad intentions that say they are doing things for God use God’s name in vain.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. – This is one of the most forgotten and holiest commandments to keep the Sabbath, which is a day of rest and keeping for the LORD thy God. It is a commandment to still be hallowed in this day and for all the generations of those who plan to make it to heaven. God’s Holy Convocations are also a Sabbath which in Hebrew is a day of rest.

The Ten Commandments are part of the Old Testament of the Holy Bible. The OT contains the law or in the Hebrew, torah. Even in the Book of Revelations of the New Testament, which contains the new promise, it refers those who want to survive Armageddon to resort to The Ten Commandments.

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. – Honour is much like saying I want to be good in the eyes of my Mother and Father. So God commands that you do your best to be a good child so that God will bless you with many days on the earth.

Some people have evil parents or one(s) who would inflict harm on their lives by misguiding them or leading them to believe wrong things are right. God still wants you to do as a good child would do in life. Allow God to handle everything else so that you can have a long life to do God’s will.
